In our ‘Train Like Manchester United – with Andrew Cole’ competition we gave the four most deserving bwin customers the chance to receive coaching advice from the very best. Watch former Red Devil Andrew Cole pass on his tips about what makes a great striker, the ideal template for a central midfielder and the importance of having fun on the football pitch, even if games end in heavy defeat:

When Christian Hill contacted bwin on October 28th 2012, his newly-formed football team, Rishton Rangers, had just played their third game. It ended in a 14-0 defeat. To put things into a bit of context, Rangers also lost their first two games and conceded more than ten goals in the process.

It would therefore be fair to say that Christian and his teammates were at a low ebb and in need of some assistance. So in an effort to turn his side’s fortunes around, Christian reached out to bwin.

On Thursday, November 15th a select band of bwin customers took part in a training day run by Manchester United coaches and former Red Devil Andrew Cole at the Cliff, where players like George Best, Bobby Charlton and Eric Cantona honed their skills before United opened their new Carrington training complex in 1999.

Realising that the chance to get advice from United’s coaches and a Champions League-winning legend was a unique, money-can’t-buy opportunity, bwin decided to give places to those who deserved it most rather than pull random names out of a hat.

We therefore put the word out that we wanted to hear from bwin customers who needed to turn their struggling team’s fortunes around. When we heard about Christian’s plight, we didn’t need to look any further.

So Christian and three of his Rishton Rangers teammates set off for the Cliff last Thursday and after being put through their paces by the Manchester United coaches, they sat down with Andrew Cole to get some tips on how to improve their performances.

In addition to giving his take on what makes a great striker, the unique skillset involved with being a central midfielder and the chances of him turning out for Rishton Rangers in the near future, Cole talked about the importance of preparing well for a game and, above all, enjoying yourself on the pitch.

As official sponsors of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, bwin is uniquely placed to reward its customers with unprecedented behind-the-scenes access at three of the world’s biggest clubs. As well as Train Like Man Utd – With Andrew Cole, bwin will offer more exclusive prizes throughout the season through its ‘Club of Champions’ promotions.

My FC Bayern Weekend,’ the next Club of Champions event, will see a winner and a guest watch Bayern Munich v Werder Bremen live from the bwin lounge at the Allianz Arena before meeting the Bayern players after the match. Future competitions include ‘Train for Real’ and ‘Backstage Bernabeu’.
